The Bach is located on Primrose Hill on the eastern side of Great Barrier overlooking Medland's beach
To reach Primrose Hill, make your way to Medland's beach and follow Sandhill's road to the DOC camping ground. You must then cross the mighty Oruwharao tidal stream
The water is extremely salty and if expensive repair bills depress you we recommend crossing only at low tide. The sand can be soft, the rocks very rocky and 4x4 is better than 2x4
Walking is a good option. Cross the elegant new pedestrian bridge, turn right, quick march and enjoy a pleasant five minute stroll beside the meandering stream. Pass the opera house, change down to 1st gear, trudge slowly up the steep hill to the Bach and glory
Sit, drink and be happy.
